The Brief

Design an effective and clean website for Encomium PR, a boutique UK based PR and Marketing firm. in order to convert clients. The website should be easy to navigate, instill trust, and generate leads.

1

Identifying Competitors

In order to get a better understanding of the competition, multiple global and local PR and Marketing websites were analysed in order to gain a rough sense of direction.

2

Understanding the Probelm

The design suffers from a lack of legibility, making it difficult for users to comfortably read or engage with the content. Navigation is also not intuitive, leaving users unsure of how to move through the interface. Additionally, there is an overwhelming amount of information presented at once, which can lead to cognitive overload. The layout lacks aesthetic coherence, which further diminishes the user experience. Finally, there is a stark and jarring contrast between the strip backgrounds, disrupting the visual flow and making the overall design feel disjointed.

3

Final Design

I ensured strong contrast between the text and background to enhance legibility across the site. A menu bar was added to improve navigation, with content organised clearly across separate pages. The information was streamlined to reduce clutter and improve focus. I included logos of the brands managed, converting them all to black and white for visual consistency, and used typography strategically—employing bolder fonts to emphasise key concepts. Throughout the design, I maintained the company’s colour theme of black, white, and red to create a cohesive and recognisable identity.

4

The Result

As a result, the website saw a 183% increase in traffic and a 256% boost in audience retention, indicating that users were not only visiting the site more frequently but also staying longer and engaging more deeply with the content. These improvements helped strengthen the firm’s online presence and better communicate its value to potential clients.
